The air circuit breaker sits at the top of a low-voltage installation — the main incomer, the bus-section, the generator breaker — where it has to interrupt the highest prospective fault current on the site and coordinate with everything downstream. Draw-out construction allows the breaker to be withdrawn for maintenance without dismantling the busbar connections.
